In February, we launched a new feature on the Umpire platform designed to increase fan engagement – the Match Predictor. The first to benefit from the new tool were fans of Ekstraklasa, who can now predict match outcomes directly within the league’s official app.
The Match Predictor is an intuitive, easy-to-use tool that keeps fans engaged throughout the matchday cycle. The idea for the predictor originated internally – as added value for the league for the second half of the season. Building on our previous experience with quiz-based tools, we developed a flexible and easily customizable solution.
Thanks to full integration with the Umpire system, the entire process is automated – predictions, ranking generation, and match scheduling all happen seamlessly, with no extra effort required from the league or club.
The Match Predictor works across web and mobile platforms, including apps. Its frontend can be fully customized by developers – with branding options including colors, fonts, graphics, and copy – making it easy to adapt for club-specific or sponsor-driven campaigns.
Built for flexibility, the Match Predictor can be adapted to client goals and expanded to include predictions such as:
- the first goal scorer,
- the team to score the first goal,
- the player of the match (MVP),
- or the exact final score.
In Ekstraklasa’s case, the priority was to deliver a quick, user-friendly feature that activates fans in a simple and familiar way – right within one of Poland’s most popular football apps.
It’s a simple but effective solution that can be used to:
- increase fan time spent on digital platforms,
- drive engagement between matchdays,
- and power creative sponsor activations.
Initial feedback from Ekstraklasa has been highly positive. Match Predictor is another step towards delivering more interactive and engaging experiences for football fans, no matter the size or level of the competition.
